Time

Time is such an enigma, much too deep a subject to get into in this post. One truth that becomes more and more real with each passing year is how fleeting that precious gift is. We have been reading missionary stories as a family during our night time reading routine. During that precious time, our eyes have been further opened to hard and how our time on this beautiful ball of dirt can end so quickly, no matter who you are or how noble your pursuits may be.

So many that have gone before us have given their lives for great causes, sacrificed all of their gifted time to spread the gospel, save children, translate the Bible, and further God’s kingdom. It has been transformative to hear these stories, consider and discuss as a family how we are utilizing the gift of time we have been given for purpose, love, and squeezing every moment for all it’s worth.

Time together is a gift we enjoy and are grateful for between all of the responsibilities and tasks and ministry that we don’t get to do together. That gift is so precious to us and playing games has been a great way to connect, talk, learn and grow together. There’s so much more to family game night than the pieces on the board or who wins or loses. It is opportunity to experience these fleeting years we have when our kids are young, to watch our son turn into a man as he strategizes and considers and laughs, to soak in every tune our daughter sings while waiting for her next turn, to cuddle with our youngest as she watches along. Thank you Lord for these precious moments.
